Join the Columbus Community Foundation and 17 Columbus-based nonprofits for the biggest giving week of the year.

Last year, through ColumbusMTGives we raised just under $22,000 for the Museum. This year we aim to do the same, but we can’t do it without YOU!

Non-profits, like Museum of the Beartooths, depend on donations and fundraising events to support our mission. Since 1976 MOB has been collecting archives and artifacts to tell Stillwater County’s history. We have thousands of items that people like you have donated to the museum to care for into perpetuity.

MOTB is the only museum in Stillwater County, and the sole place that one can experience an in-depth exhibit on the history of the second Crow Agency and many other topics. We see nearly 4,000 visitors annually. Our guests come from all 50 states and several foreign countries. Many individuals come to do research in the Museum’s archives: some for professional reasons, others for personal research.

The MTGives website, www.columbusmtgives.org, will be live on April 15th! There you will see the Museum in the list of organizations and can follow the instructions to donate online. Or if you prefer, you can deliver a check to the museum or send a check to the Museum of the Beartooths, PO Box 1, Columbus, MT 59019. Please include ColumbusMTGives in the memo of your check to guarantee the funds will be considered part of the total. If you are concerned that your check may not arrive during the week of May 3-7, please send an email to let us know that your check is on its way so that it will be included in the total.

There is more good news: Your donation during ColumbusMTGives Week can generate even more funds for the Museum to assist with preserving the past for future generations. The Columbus Community Foundation has $26,000 in match funds to donate to organizations based on the percentage of the total donated to our county during MTGives Week. For example, if the Museum raises 50% of the total funds for the Columbus MTGives event, the Museum will receive 50% of the match funds!

Funds will be used to further our important mission to collect, preserve, and share the rich history, art and culture of the Stillwater County area and keep the Museum alive for future generations.
