The Museum of the Beartooths is more than just your typical small town museum. Our professional displays lend clarity to our rich, local history. The Museum’s ever-changing exhibits, enhanced with a special selection of traveling exhibits, invite visitors to stop by again and again.

As the only museum in the county, MOB displays and documents Stillwater County history through the stories, art, oral histories, artifacts, and images of residents from the past 100+ years. This rich history reaches from the Beartooth Mountains in the south to the dryland basins of the north, an area that has contributed to both Montana’s and our nation’s histories.  Our exhibits engage visitors through interesting information and unique artifacts, some that allow hands-on exploration.
